Scouting Report

Hitting

Warren Egan success at producing runs is limited by his environment. He could produce some astounding offensive totals in a potent lineup. Open stance, inpatient at the plate, often swings at the first pitch, linear swing; average bat speed, can get off balance on follow-through. Pull happy swing; stiff hands limit ability to spray the ball, linear swing path produces more singles than hard contact. Frame translates to below-average raw power, little leverage, doesn’t produce loft or carry on hit balls; swing lacks for weight shift or load enough to generate power to the pull side, well below-average tool.

Base-Running & Defense

Warren Egan is a solid base runner that knows how to pick his spots to run when judging those potential extra base hits. But with his limited intelligence Egan often runs into third outs. A below average defensive fielder with no hands and no accurate, Egan gets extremely lucky when those fly balls tend to land in his glove. He is extraordinarily hard-headed and undisciplined but can fill in as outfielder.
