The Defining Moment
Peterson & Patch softball had closed to within two games in the standing and was pumped for a June 30th showdown in Lake County. The defining moment of the game and some people will say the season, was in the top of the sixth inning, Phil Sims was intentionally walk to load the bases with two outs. Right center fielder Rick Garza step up to the plate and with the first pitch, blasted a line-drive down the left field line for a bases clearing double his second of the game. Rick ended up 2 for 4 with ( 5 RBIs / 2 Runs ) Right Fielder Carlos Carrillo single in Rick for an insurance run. Second basemen Nate Alden went 3 for 5 with ( 4 RBIs / 3 Runs ) with an HR in the first inning. Third basemen Phil Sims goes 1 for 1, HR with 3 intentionally walks ( 2 RBIs / 3 Runs ).
