Statistically Speaking:

Vinnie Campanella has an old-school stance, slightly open and upright with slightly bent knees. Power is mostly to pull side, but loud contact is frequent. Punishes mistakes in any count, shows good feel for going the other way. Even when he doesn't swing, you can just see the energy build up in his load. It's dangerous. Campanella will take his share of walks but won't appear on any rate leaderboards.

Upside Potential:

Usually the hit tool unlocks the power tool, but in Vinnie Campanella case it might be the other way around. He hits the ball so hard, so often, that the softball is bound to find holes in the field.

They Said It:

"When a ball player has multiple carrying tools, which is what usually puts him on the map. Part of what makes Vinnie Campanella special is how quick he's fits in any team, how he's been able to accomplish so much for his age, and the legitimate potential for five tools." -- John Redcorn – Director of Athletics
