Scouting Report

Hitting

One will be very impressed with the overall skill-set of Tanner Erbach. He’s a player who can display all five tools in the same game and have a huge impact. Erbach understands the importance of actually having a patient approach to the plate. His quick hands and wrists generates plus bat speed through the zone, though his swing and hips can take a longer than like to get moving at times. Erbach has good extension with his hands, but he occasionally drops his back shoulder and gets under pitches. Erbach can generate extra pop from his bat speed but he’s more of a gap-to-gap.

Base-Running & Defense

Tanner Erbach has a great second gear that starts when his long legs get going; capable runner that can steal extra base hits. His speed on base path is heightened to due natural instincts and is a main part of all phases in his game. Natural in LF; Erbach displays terrific instincts and makes great routes; understands when to go full-force towards a ball or branch off and take the route easier to cut the ball off. Erbach plus range; second gear in speed allows him to catch up with harder hit balls. His above-average arm strength allows him to make crisp throws even when on the run.
