Scouting Report

Hitting

A fine natural hitter Seth Smole is blessed with wonderful hand-eye coordination that allows him to consistently put the barrel of the bat on the ball despite being very aggressive with his hacks. Smole has made great strides in his plate discipline, improving his on-base percentage from earlier seasons. Smole has quick wrists and a fast bat that allows him to drive the ball to any part of the field with aplomb. During those early hot summer games, Smole becomes more of a line drive hitter, with a much more linear stroke, which makes it more difficult to hit for power.

Base-Running & Defense

An extreme aggressive base runner, Seth Smole will intimidate most infielders with his unobtrusive feet first slides to take extra bases and break up double plays. Defensively, Seth Smole is strong infielder with a plus accurate throwing arm.While his quickness and agility translate into superior range Smole continues to put himself in position to make plays. Smole is a tremendous athlete with sure hands, a great arm, and strong fundamentals with terrific instincts.His arm strength allows him to make crisp throws even when on the run.
