Scouting Report
Hitting
A fine natural hitter with excellent power, Ross Jensen made great strides in his plate discipline last season, improving his on-base numbers from earlier in the season. Low short-pitches is his Achilles’ heel, but utilizing that patience against them will bring those numbers up again. At the plate, Jensen has quick wrists and a fast bat. He can drive the ball to any field with aplomb. The best part is that, at age 23, he still is learning.
Base-Running & Defense
Though an average runner, Ross Jensen usually uses good judgment the bases and reads the ball well when trying to take the extra base. He is one of the game’s most underrated fielders, with good range and very good hands. His ability to pick throws out of the dirt was a huge upgrade over Jeff Wilson and contributed to making the club infield defense one of the best in softball.
