Scouting Report

Hitting

R.J. Lauraitis always has had a quick bat, but he seemed to be a tick quicker this time around, perhaps because he was in better shape. His patience comes and goes, though. He attacked the first pitch with average results, but didn’t get himself as many deep counts and walked far less frequently. Lauraitis also seems to have a psychological block against tournament type pitchers.

Base-Running & Defense

A good athlete with decent speed, Lauraitis does use it well. He does not always use good judgment on the bases, however, getting himself thrown out at some bad moments. R.J. Lauraitis has a decent arm, but can make it harder with poor positioning, and occasionally he loses flyballs. He has worked hard to become a solid softball outfielder but probably never will be better than above average.
