Scouting Report

Hitting

Rich Wolfer features a dangerous combination of power, contact hitting and strike-zone judgment. He adjusts well to pitching patterns and game situations, which allows him to be productive even when behind in the count. Although he’s a good RBI producer, Wolfer is more likely to contend for a home run crown then a batting title because of his slightly uppercut stroke that produces hard fly balls. Wolfer is extremely strong with a very quick bat and uses his legs well in his swing. Though, with a selective hitting approach, Wolfer can show some exceptional patients at the plate.

Base-Running & Defense

Rich Wolfer speed is a tick average for his age and ailing knees, but he’s no base runner. He’s an opportunistic baserunner, and will take an extra base on a fielding error. Rich Wolfer a former Infielder for a good portion of his early career, is fun to watch behind the plate. He proved more than adequate as a catcher. He has an average arm for the position and had no trouble reading the ball after the move.
