Scouting Report

Hitting

Overall, one will walk away extremely impressed with Ray Quinones power potential and the type of contact he makes. The ball tends to jump off his bat and it seems to carry a little further than most other bats. He’s very confident in his knowledge of the strike zone and is very comfortable hitting with two strikes and is not afraid of letting that borderline pitch with two strikes pass. Quinones is blessed with incredible hand-eye coordination that allows him to consistently put the barrel the ball. His power to all fields gets a very healthy percentage of line drives.

Base-Running & Defense

An intelligence base runner with average speed, Quinones will intimidate most infielders with his unobtrusive feet first / hook slides to take those extra bases. His speed isn’t an asset or a liability. Defensively, Ray Quinones has worked hard on becoming a Gold Glove third basemen with his cannon-like arm and pinpoint accuracy. Quinones is light on his feet, and possesses terrific footwork. His range is outstanding, and he makes more back hand stop or goes back on balls better than most infielder.
