Statistically Speaking:

Tre Cruz has very good feel for hitting; knows his game and executes it; doesn’t try to overstep his boundaries at the plate. Doesn’t often expand strike zone and will take a walk, but is very aggressive on pitches within the zone and looks to attack. Double-plus raw foot speed, quick out of the box, will be an extra base threat with more experience; with excellent instincts and base-running skills. As impressive as the batting is, the defense is better. Conceivably able to play second base, shortstop and outfield Tre Cruz has incredible instincts and understanding of positioning.

Upside Potential:

Tre Cruz had arguably the best statistical season of any prospect, taking age and league context into consideration. A high-floor middle-infielder who seems to only hit hard line drives. He showed good patience at the plate and consistent hard contact although the top end exits are just "good."

They Said It:

"Potential star with already advanced skills that grant him a higher realistic floor than most in the County. One of the five or ten best prospects in the league, no matter where he ends up on the dirt." -- Steve Sharts – VP of Player Development
