Scouting Report

Hitting

Marcus Sims is a tremendous athlete who is a perfectionist regarding his swing. A team player and a natural leader, Sims has the ability to wait on pitches that travel deep into his hitting zone before committing. He consistently puts the barrel on the ball thanks to excellent hand-eye coordination. Sims likes to use the entire field and is more than willing to take what the pitcher gives him. He adjusts well to pitching patterns and game situations, which allows him to be productive even when behind in the count. An extra base hitter; Marcus Sims will keep his swing short, which will help him keep his contact rate high.

Base-Running & Defense

Marcus Sims natural speed is excellent and he makes the most of it in every way. With great reads and all-out hustle, Sims is an alert and aggressive base runner who will take an extra base if the opposing defense is sleeping. For Months the Club have touted Marcus Sims as a five-tool player, and in this case the scouting report has proven to be correct. Few players in the game are more underrated from a national stand point than infielder Marcus Sims. He ranks among the league leaders in numerous defensively categories on an annual basis, and rarely is mentioned when the topic is centered on the game’s premier performers. He gets an exceptional jump, attacks grounders with reckless abandon and possesses a strong, accurate throwing arm.
