Hitting
Forget about what went on during the 2004 season. Marco Cenveantes can handle a slow pitch softball. But to be successful, he needs to show patience. He has a big swing and he is going to strike out, but the key for him is to swing at strikes. Marco is strong enough and has a quick enough bat to have power to all fields, and Belvidere Park has given him quick rewards for having that type of approach. By looking to go the other way he improves his plate coverage and limits his vulnerability to deep high pitches, which remains a major problem.
Base-Running & Defense
Marco Cenveantes will make good base path decisions and will take more attempts on extra bases as he learns the nuances of the game more. Marco Cenveantes has an average, but not terrible, arm from the outfield. He once played the middle infield, but got the yips and asks to move to the outfield. He’s got more courage and strength than it would seem, and while his approach is unorthodox, Marco can play all four outfield positions and would be fine in right center. Relatively new to Lake County Leagues, Marco comes a long way in terms of his defensive skills in the outfield.
