Scouting Report

Hitting

Kevin Simmons can get into trouble in the Softball Leagues by trying to pull too many outside. But he is a marvelous hitter whom the Club know can be one of the league’s best. He’s extremely strong with a very quick bat and uses his legs well in his swing. He pulls the ball way too much and needs to learn to take it the opposite way sometimes. When batting with men in scoring position, however, Simmons can show little patience at times and often swings at bad pitches.

Base-Running & Defense

Kevin Simmons highlight film could be an instructional video on what a five-too player is. He runs like a gazelle and easily can turn what appears to be a double into a stand up triple. The Softball Leagues still hasn’t caught him stealing an extra base every once in awhile yet. He studies outfielder swell and has such explosion when he runs that the relay throw rarely has a chance. Though Simmons often plays somewhat shallow, players still have a hard time hitting the ball over his head. He covers a huge amount of ground and makes the acrobatic catch. He also has a plus arm.
