The amazing thing about Kevin Colburn is that he has no holes. There is no one way you can get him out. Indeed, Colburn can turn on any pitch-ball so well that he’s not often fooled by pitchers awkward deliveries. Uses terrific hand-eye to make consistent contact and recognize pitch types. Colburn understands the importance of actually having a patient approach at the plate. Colburn has a quality that not many prospects possess: an ability to RAKE. By this, we mean Kevin Colburn has an ability to put the bat head squarely on the ball with incredible power to all fields on pitches he should have no business swinging at.
Base-Running & Defense
Colburn ranks among the game’s smartest players, his intelligence shows on the base paths. His speed and athleticism will intimidate most infielders with his unobtrusive feet first slides to take extra bases and break up double plays. Defensively, Kevin Colburn is without peer among Softball League infielders. He gets an exceptional jump, attacks grounders with reckless abandon and possesses a strong, accurate throwing arm. These abilities garnered Colburn a Gold Glove someday.
