Scouting Report

Hitting

Josh Lutinski can become a marvelous hitter to whom the Team knows. One of the leagues best rookies currently in the game, Lutinski possesses an extreme quick strong bat to witch he uses to his advantage. He has shown good plate coverage and will display extra-base power when he uses his legs in his swing Lutinski has been showing more consistent patience at the plate. He tends to pull the ball too much and needs to learn to drive the ball the opposite way. When batting with runners in scoring position Lutinski at times doesn’t show enough patience and often swung at bad pitches.

Base-Running & Defense

With great speed and even better base running instincts, Lutinski is a solid base runner that knows how to pick his spots. He shows great judgment in taking those extra bases as he studies the opponents outfielders well and has such explosion when he runs that the relay throw rarely has a chance. Though Lutinski often plays somewhat shallow, players still have a hard time hitting the ball over his head. Josh Lutinski remains a premier out fielder who positions himself well and reads the ball off the bat better than most, and continues to make fewer errors then most of his peers, by covering significant ground making acrobatic catches from gap to gap. His arm is above average and quite accurate.
