Hitting

A tremendous athlete, Joe Yonke has an intriguing combination of speed, instincts,discipline and an incredible knowledge of the strike zone. Yonke uses terrific hand-eye coordination to make consistent contact and recognize pitch type. Yonke understands the importance of actually having a patient approach to the plate, considering on who is batting behind him. Yonke, a pure No# 2 hitter in every sense of the word hits for average, power and he’s comfortable hitting with two strikes as he’s not afraid of letting that borderline pitch with two strikes pass him by. With his tremendous strong hands Yonke can spoil pitches inan effort to extend his at-bats as he slashes line drives to all parts of the field. Joe Yonke will get on base at a very high rate even while his slugging percentage suffers with his exceptional reach on Base – On – Balls count.

Base-Running & Defense

For years the experts have touted Joe Yonke as a five-tool player, and in this case the scouting report has proven to be correct. Yonke combines great decisions with extreme aggressive base running while taking advantage of advancement opportunities without running into outs. Yonke a solid base runner who reads outfielders movement so well that he is even more effective as a base runner when scoring. No one will deny that Joe Yonke is a tremendous athlete with sure hands, a great arm, and strong fundamentals with terrific instincts.His range is outstanding and nobody makes more spectacular running catches or goes back better on ball. While his quickness and agility translate into superior range afield, his arm strength allows him to make crisp throws even when on the run. Yonke outstanding speed and his loose, fluid stride make’s him the best defensive out fielder of the current era.
