Scouting Report

Hitting

There is one reason why Jason Fuller rates so highly as a prospect: his bat. Fuller has a lot of bat speed and gets terrific loft on his swing not so much where his bat enters and leaves the hitting zone quickly but enough to where he consistently puts the ball in the air, many of which are pop flys. But he has learned to make adjustments to get out of those funks. Fuller has quick enough hands to turn on any high deep pitches. But he does a solid job of covering the outer corner of the plate as well.

Base-Running & Defense

Jason Fuller is an excellent base runner. He uses his good speed well, running with his head up to take advantage of advancement opportunities without running into outs. Defensively, Fuller is solid. Other utility player shave modestly better range, but Fuller turns virtually every ball he touches into an out. He is extraordinarily focused and disciplined, and almost all of his throws hit other infielders squarely in the chest.
