Scouting Report

Hitting

Brian Williams is versatile enough to hit anywhere in the lineup and with his swing will result in plenty of fly balls, which will mean more extra base hits. Williams who is an aggressive hitter who often will swing at the first-pitch with intent, which will often lead to swings – and – misses, but when contact is made, the ball has the potential to go a long way. Williams has made great strides in being able to handle those out-side pitches. In addition, his on-base percentage has grown considerably over the last two months of the season, as he has become stronger and shortened his stroke to allow him to drive pitches into the gaps.

Base-Running & Defense

Though Brian Williams natural speed isn’t spectacular; he’ll make the most of it in every way by taking as many bases as the defense will allow and is very aggressive in breaking up double plays. One would think of Williams as being a base-cloggier who will struggle to go from first to third on any base hit; but there are a few smarter base runners in softball than the hard-driving Williams. Brian Williams has worked hard on improving his defensive skills and has made himself into a solid unity infielder that rarely makes mental errors. His range is average, but he has improved and has learned to scoop and make an actuate throw.
