Scouting Report

Hitting

Brad is a terrific No. 2 hitter. He combines a great average and batting eye with a willingness to take a pitch and an ability to hit the ball up the middle. He has respectable power and is especially adept at staying inside the ball and driving it down the line, particularly on inside pitches. He’s much more of a line-drive hitter than a flyball hitter, and many of his hits come on hard liners through the infield. His bat control enables him to protect the plate well with two strikes.

Base-Running & Defense

Brad ranks among the game’s smartest players, and his intelligence shows on the bases. He makes good decisions and runs well with having exceptional speed. Despite playing on a difficult natural surface in Waukegan, Jensen made only 15 errors to earn his first Gold Glove at short. He will not show off his arm like other shortstops, but he has the ability to always have just enough on his throw to get the out.
