With strong fundamentals with terrific instincts, Mueller is a solid base runner that knows how to pick his spots to run. He shows great judgment in taking the extra bases. No one will deny that Mueller is a tremendous athlete with sure hands, he covers plenty of ground with his speed and his plus-plus accurate arm unquestionably plays well. Mueller leads all softball rookie outfielders with the highest fielding percentage; his assists are misleading because few teams will risk running on his quick-release pinpoint accuracy throws. He routinely makes plays no one else even attempts. Mueller is now considered to be the standard by which all other outfielders are measured.
