Scouting Report

Hitting

Jared Yonke understands the importance of actually having a patient approach to the plate. A tremendous athlete with an intriguing combination of hand-eye coordination and plate discipline to make consistent contact. Much of his confidence and willingness to wait out a pitcher stems from his ability to hit with two strikes. The Zion-Benton standout, best tool is going to be his aggressive speed and though he’s not going to hit for a ton of power, Yonke has just enough strength to be more of a gap hitting double and triple type than a home run guy.

Base-Running & Defense

Jared Yonke is a polished base runner who knows how to pick his spots to run. He shows great judgment in taking the extra base, and is among the games smartest players currently in the leagues. Yonke defense is the strongest part of his game with excellent range. Steady on the routine fly balls, especially to his left, Yonke possesses the kind of arm that allows him to throw out a runner even after making a play deep in the hole.
