Scouting Report

Hitting

It’s easy to underestimate Nathan DeRohan offensive impact because of his youth.Between his strength, energy and base running skills, he contributes in a variety of ways. DeRohan is an aggressive first-pitch hitter who will often swing at any pitch. However, DeRohan has become more adept at working counts. He likes to line pitches to right center, and will stride through a short pitch and drive into left field. DeRohan at times can drive the ball into any gaps that too often leads to home runs instead of keeping the ball on the ground and using his speed. DeRohan has great pop when saying within the strike-zone, and usually puts together a good at-bat in a clutch situations. His extra-base power will grow considerably as he becomes more mature that will eventually allow him to drive pitches into the gaps.

Base-Running & Defense

The natural talent is there for Nathan DeRohan, and he only needs to make a few adjustments to take his game to the next level. His foot speed is tremendous underrated as a weapon and DeRohan will take any extra base when opportunities occur. Nathan DeRohan mental make-up, young, smart, and his work ethic are widely praised and he gives the Club more value than the average infielder. As he’s already Gold Glove material, he continues to make strides as an All Star infielder. Nathan DeRohan contuse to make improvement and his throwing accuracy continues to display adequate range afield.
