Scouting Report

Hitting

Few players in the game are more underrated from a national stand point than veteran utility outfielder Chuck Breucher. He ranks among the league leaders in numerous offensive categories on an annual basis, yet rarely is mentioned when the topic is centered on the game’s premier performers. Breucher has excellent hand-eye coordination, a perfectionist regarding his swing, which enables him to make hard contact and recognize the spins of different pitches. He has plus bat speed, able to wait on the ball to travel deep into his hitting zone before committing. In addition,he keeps his swing short, which will help in keeping his contact rate high down the road.

Base-Running & Defense

Chuck Breucher natural speed isn’t spectacular; he makes the most of it in every way. With good reads and all-out hustle. As an alert and aggressive base runner Breucher will take an extra base if the opposing defense is sleeping. Defensively, Breucher is not as bad as it sometimes appears to be, his range is average, but he is sure handed and rarely makes any mental mistakes.
