A group that reported to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina motivated by what was left unaccomplished in 013’ was sent into the offseason stung by the reality that their championship aspirations had fallen 2 wins short in 2014.

Summer Record: 88-51, Monday Waukegan Lower League, Tuesday Waukegan Upper League, Tuesday Waukegan Lower League and Libertyville Wednesday League Night Champion’s. Individual highlights for the WHAT? Squad included the breakout season of offseason acquisition Jimmy Brando, Kevin Colburn and Andrew Formica and the strong rookie season of infielder Jeff Johnson.

Most  Valuable  Player

A lot of people figured that the 2014 MVP Award would end up being something of a tight race between Jimmy Brando, Andrew Formica, and Thomas Wolfer. Instead, it ended up being a blowout, as Jimmy Brando picked up 21 of a possible 22 first-place votes for a landslide victory.

For Jimmy Brando, it’s a great honor following a breakthrough season that saw him win 6 out of 12 Awards. He finished the year with a .692 average, a 1.899 OPS, 23 home runs, and 120 RBI, and he was the biggest individual reason why the WHAT? Sftbll ran through the playoff’s and made into the Championship game.

Rookie of the Year

Shortstop Jeff Johnson was named the 2014 Rookie of the Year. His best month of the season came in August when he batted .608 with 10 home runs and 42 RBI’s in 13 games. Johnson hit .612 with 20 home runs and 84 RBI’s during the regular season in addition to serving as the everyday shortstop for a pitching staff that led all of softball in earned run average. For his efforts, he was named the Player of the Month Award for August and won a Gold Glove and Defenseman of the Year.

Made his team debut on June 16th. 2014 against Bombers Squad at SportsPark, B’ going ( 0 for 2 ). Collected his first Home Run on Tuesday June 17th, 2014 against Xtreme Softball Club, Gm. 2 at SportsPark, A’.

This is an authentic card of young Gold Glover and Defenseman of the Year Award shortstop and Rookie of the Year Winner Jeff Johnson also took home a Sporting News All Star Award and the Sports Personality of the Year Award. SP Chirography Card also represents Andrew Formica with his Silver Slugger Award, Sporting News All Star Award and Utility Player of the Year Award. There is a certificate of authenticity from the CEO of Softball Trading Cards on the back of the card.
