Statistically Speaking:
When most people start talking about Lozano, it's the glove that comes up first, and with good reason. Lozano is a Gold Glove -caliber pitcher who would be good enough to play the position defensively very well during his years in the big leagues, ability-wise. He's got good hands, footwork and a strong throwing arm. He's extremely composed and even-keeled on the field. Lozano has some very interesting attributes. Really good contact-ability, really good line-drive approach, works a count well, and is a plus-plus RBI guy with above plus power. With that profile, he has a strong impact on Lake County and onward.
Upside Potential:
It's hard to imagine anyone living up to the hype that Lozano has received, but he continues do it. He has every opportunity to be a superstar who hits in the middle of lineups for a long, long time.
They Said It:
"Ralph brings a right-handed power bat to our organization. He's a guy that can do a lot of damage. He is the run-producer in the middle-of-our batting order. And he's a better pitcher and athlete than he gets credit for." -- Steve Sharts – VP of Player Development
