Hitting

A patient hitter with a smooth stroke, Jose Silva likes the ball out over the plate and is capable of reaching any part of the fences. A positive influence both on the field and in the clubhouse, Silva displays plenty of extra-base hit power with his line-drive strokes. Jose Silva at times can be an extremely patient hitter who reads pitches well while displaying good strike zone judgment. Combining contact and power hitting Silva is at his best when he trusts his swing to drive the ball into left center. A dangerous hitter with runners in scoring position, and is equally likely to beat pitchers with a gap shot or a run-scoring single.

Base-Running & Defense

Jose Silva natural speed isn’t spectacular; but he makes the most of it in every way. Silva gets good reads and shows all-out hustle. Though, the best that can be said about his base running is that he’s well aware of his limitations. Jose Silva has worked especially hard on improving his defensive skills and has made himself into a solid fielder that rarely makes mental errors. His range is average, but he is sure handed and can ground them with consistency. As a Pitcher, Jose Silva covers the cavernous pitching mounds very well and is capable of playing first base when asked.
