Scouting Report

Hitting

Drew Recker was the best all-around hitter at the inaugural Prospect Development Pipeline in 2011. Recker established himself as the best pure high school hitter in his area and his advanced bat-to-ball skills immediately translated to adult softball. With a left-handed swing that is geared toward driving the ball to the middle and opposite fields, Recker projects as a plus hitter. He controls the zone well and shows a solid approach, though there is still room for him to grow as a power threat.

Base-Running & Defense

Recker plus-plus speed is a game-changing tool. He’s reads the ball well and his jumps and anticipation is a threat to steal extra bases on miss played balls. A versatile outfielder with great speed and athleticism that allows him to cover vast amounts of outfield gaps while corralling those deep pop fly’s, and his throwing arm is so good that he hits the cutoff man with pinpoint accuracy.
