Scouting Report

Hitting

Bert Ramirez features a dangerous combination of power, contact hitting and strike-zone judgment. He adjusts well to pitching patterns and game situations, which allows him to be productive even when behind in the count, especially when he’s pushing runners over. You’ll also hear a lot of the clichés associated with Ramirez given his small size; scrappy, hard-working, and other intangible-oriented descriptions. While they all may be true, Ramirez is versatile enough to bat anywhere in the lineup and can also play a little bit too. With his short stroke and great strike-zone discipline he continues to emerge as one of the most patient hitters in the leagues, unafraid to take several pitches before he sees something he likes.

Base-Running & Defense

Bert Ramirez is only a step better than the average runner, but is effective as a base runner when circumstance permits; his abilities to read outfielder’s movement well enough or when he catches the opponent outfielders napping to score from any base with ease. Bert Ramirez is thy game’s most underrated utility players, with great range and very good hands, he show incredibly ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Ramirez glove is the reason he has been a regular in the big leagues for nearly 20 full seasons. He doesn’t have that overpowering arm, but he reacts quickly and shows good range because of his ability to read the batters hitting situation. He does not make mental mistakes, either in the field or on the bases. His ability to Pitch is a huge upgrade.
