Hitting

Keith Kauppi’s best tool is his bat, and it’s a plus. With terrific plate discipline that allows him to be a game-changer on both sides of the ball, as a major base runner threat and an outstanding base hitter. He makes consistent contact and has more extra-base pop than one might think based on his frame. Keith Kauppi has improved his on-base skills, clearly demonstrating an understanding of what it will take to be an All-Star outfielder at the big league level in the future. He entered pro ball with a very solid understanding of how to play the game.

Base-Running & Defense

Keith Kauppi is a prototypical lead-off hitter who serves as a perfect catalyst, wreaking havoc on the base paths. His intelligence shows on the base paths, as he makes great decisions and runs well with having exceptional speed. With that terrific first step, Kauppi has the ability to make any adjustments while in the outfield, and unlike other outfielders of his peers Kauppi will not show off his arm. But, while covering a ton of ground in the outfield, he always seems to have the ability to have just enough on his throws to get the putout.
