Scouting Report

Hitting

Steve Fisher a positive influence both on the field and in the clubhouse has plenty of extra-base power to all fields, but is at his best when he trusts his swing to take the ball up the middle. But Steve still has an undisciplined approach to the plate and often will get himself out by chasing eye-high outside pitches that he has difficulty lying off. Fisher is vulnerable to hard flat stuff that crowds him, and that remains the best strategy to get him out. Fisher sometimes gets long with his swing and will go through stretches when he is vulnerable to lazy fly balls, but he has been learning to make adjustments to get out of those funks.

Base-Running & Defense

Steve Fisher medium build belies his decent speed. Despite his awkward appearance, he’s a good base runner who has some success with taking an extra base when opportunities occur. Steve Fisher has worked especially hard on improving his defensive skills and has made himself into a solid infielder that rarely makes mental errors. His range is average, but he is sure handed and can turn the double play with consistency.
